DESCRIPTION:Registration for the 2025 Wheat Academy is sold out. Please email us at small.grains@wsu.edu to join the waitlist. 		\n		\n	\n\n\n\nWashington State University’s annual Wheat Academy returns to the Pullman campus for its ninth year of the comprehensive\, hands-on education program for PNW wheat growers and crop consultants. The 2025 WSU Wheat Academy will be held December 9 and 10 in the Vogel Biosciences Building teaching laboratories. Online pre-registration for the event will open on Friday\, October 10 and is limited to the first 75 registrants. \n\n\n\nBringing together growers\, agricultural professionals\, and scientists from WSU\, the University of Idaho\, USDA’s Agricultural Research Service (ARS)\, and more\, the Academy offers an opportunity for collaboration and discussion about emerging issues and ideas in wheat farming. \n\n\n\nTopics range from wheat industry principles for the next generation of wheat growers to in-depth research for those with years in the field\, including: \n\n\n\n\nPhosphorus in PNW Dryland Soils\n\n\n\nDiagnosing and Managing Diseases of Wheat\n\n\n\nBiology and Management of Pests in Wheat\, Canola\, and Pulses\n\n\n\nPalmer Amaranth and Waterhemp: You Don’t Want These Problems in Your Field\n\n\n\nMicronutrients\n\n\n\nSoil Health Strategies for the Inland PNW: Biosolids and Beyond\n\n\n\nSoil Acidity\n\n\n\nCanola in Rotation\n\n\n\nMarketing Strategy Development\n\n\n\nThe New Falling Numbers Test\n\n\n\nGene Edited vs. Transgenic Wheat\n\n\n\nWheat Staging\n\n\n\n\nMore information will available at the event website: smallgrains.wsu.edu/2025wa. \n\n\n\nPersons with disabilities who require alternative means for communication or program information or reasonable accommodation need to contact us at small.grains@wsu.edu or 509-335-2961 at least two weeks prior to the event.  Extension programs and employment are available to all without discrimination.  Evidence of noncompliance may be reported through your local Extension office.
