2018 Farm Bill ARC/PLC Decision

""

The 2018 Farm Bill ARC/PLC election is coming up quickly and must be completed by March 15, 2020 for the 2019 and 2020 crop year. If an election is not made, you will default into your 2014 program selection and you will forfeit your 2019 payment.

The first step is to make sure all landlords are up-to-date and Farm Service Agency power of attorney documents are current. It appears most producers across the region will be selecting Price Loss Coverage (PLC) for 2019 and 2020 based on current projected payments. A decision tool developed by Texas A&M University is available for you to quickly calculate estimated payments for each of the programs based on your farm. Information you will need include FSA form 156-EZ and your crop insurance production records (these are needed to determine if you can benefit by updating your PLC Yield).

More information can also be found at the Washington Association of Wheat Growers website where Farm Bill Educational Workshop presentations are available.
